3/11/2008 - Busy Glasstec Exceeds Expectations

Smart-Builder is happy to announce that Glasstec 2008 was a stunning success, exceeding all of their expectations. After 5 busy days, with very little down time, the staff have each returned to their respective offices, tired but satisfied. Rumour has it that the team was so busy they were the last to exit the hall each night.

It appears that Europe has been crying out for software configurators, such as the advanced products that Smart-Builder offer. It became quite evident during the show that many companies in Europe still do their design calculations with pen and paper and must resort to CAD when a drawing is required. The speed and practicality of Smart-Builder's software was a revelation to most and the cost savings apparent to all. The Smart-Builder team demonstrated shower, shopfront and balustrade designs, complete with costing and animated 3D drawings, being generated in seconds.

It wasn't just Europe either, visitors from Africa, the Middle East and Asia were all excited by the software suite that the New World has been using for over 10 years.

Aside from supporting their new customers and following up on leads, the company will continue to roll out new features for each of the design modules. Smart-Balustrade, in particular, looks like it is going to be popular so look out for many features added to this module in the coming months.

13/10/2008 - Gearing up for Glasstec

Glasstec 2008 is just about upon us and the staff at Smart-Builder have nearly completed their mammoth preparations. As well as the usual organisational headaches associated with exhibitions, Smart-Builder have released new versions of some products to coincide with the show.

The stand in hall 10 is conveniently positioned on a corner next to the access way for neighbouring hall 9. This should ensure a high level of foot traffic and means those visitors seeking out the stand can find it easily. To further aid identification, a rotating box has been placed on the ceiling and MD, David Brennan, has both doubled the recommended level of lighting and ordered in some large screen TVs. We suspect the stand will be visible from some distance.

In anticipation of a successful Glasstec, Smart-Builder are taking 4 experienced staff to the show. If you want to ask anything about software configurators for glass then these are the guys to see. Smart-Builder are putting a Methuselah (6 litre bottle) of Champagne up for grabs at Glasstec this month. World leading software deserves to be represented by a premium product and Smart-Builder think a bottle, 8 times normal size, from a famous Champagne house should just about do it. After the popularity of the Möet et Chandon bottle at Glassex, the team will be lugging a huge bottle of Pol Roger to Düsseldorf.

Glass software specialists Smart-Builder have announced the immediate availability of their Smart-Hosting service in the UK and Europe. The service provides a simple and convenient way to access Smart-Builder's advanced design software.

UK manager Paul Needham explains, "Smart-Hosting allows our customers to use the software from anywhere with internet access. They can design and quote at work, at home, while travelling or on site. It's all about flexibility”.

He adds, “For many customers, the ability to produce accurate 3D drawings on site can clinch a deal."

Smart-Builder cite other benefits, including centrally managed updates and infrastructure that many small businesses would not otherwise have in place, such as 24 hour redundant power supplies and off-site backups.

Glasstec 2008: Getting ready for the show...

Smart-Builder will be exhibiting at Glasstec, the world's premiere glass trade fair. This year's show will be held in Düsseldorf, October 21-25, 2008.

Not only is Glasstec the largest trade show for the glass industry, it is also the most international. This makes Glasstec the perfect platform for Smart-Builder to demonstrate their design software to trade visitors from around the world. Smart-Builder, the industry's leading shower, shopfront and balustrade software provider are now well into their planning and intend making every success of the show.

15/05/2008 - Will Sean share sizeable Champagne?

As part of their Glassex/GP&T stand and to celebrate entry into the UK glass market, world leading software producer Smart-Builder offered a champagne draw for all visitors to their stand.

After the show finished and the dust had settled there were certainly a large number of entries. Unfortunately, there can be only one winner and Sean Ballard from Prefit www.prefit-fittings.com emerged as the lucky visitor.

On presentation of the bottle, Sean said that he was "really chuffed" to have won the bottle of Möet and that it "was bigger than he remembered".

Indeed, the bottle was huge! It contains 6 Litres of champagne and the glass from the bottle weighs over 5 kilos alone.

The only question now is, will Sean share his champagne? We shall see.

18/04/2008 - Successful GP&T show for Smart-Builder culminates in Award.

Smart-Builder's David Brennan (Managing Director) and Paul Needham (UK Manager) both agree that, for them, Glassex/GP&T was a stunning success. Winning the "Best New Software Product" award really was the icing on the cake.

Exhibiting at GP&T was essential for Smart-Builder. Being new to the UK, the company was keen to demonstrate their design software and showcase its capabilities. Indeed, visitors to the stand were amazed. The speed, ease of use and accuracy of shower, shopfront and balustrade design met universal acclaim.

David Brennan commented, "It is one thing to read about our software but quite another to see it in action and this certainly created a buzz about the stand".

The show also enabled Smart-Builder's staff to meet others in the industry, generate interest in their software suite and to put some faces to names.

With a variety of new leads and others currently on the boil, the signs all point to a successful and busy future for Smart-Builder.

We have a busy year planned with our flagship products undergoing continuous improvement to maintain and extend our lead in the frameless glass sector. Our biggest project for the year is expected to be Smart-Balustrade for frameless glass balustrades and pool fences which should reach completion towards the end of the year. 01/10/2007 - UK Office

Smart-Builder, provider of the world leading suite of frameless glass expert systems, is pleased to announce the opening of its United Kingdom sales and support office. Located in London, the establishment of this office represents a key milestone in Smart-Builder’s efforts to more directly support its rapidly growing European client base. 10/08/2007 - Smart-Railing Rendered Views

Smart-Builder is pleased to announce the immediate availability of rendered 3D railing drawings within Smart-Railing. 3D drawings, which are fully rotatable and include dimensions, are available in colour or a black and white technical outline for printing. These new drawings complement the existing technical drawings produced by Smart-Railing by providing a great visual representation of the installed railing for both customers and installers.

20/12/2006 - Half a Million Showers!

Smart-Builder is excited to announce that by conservative estimates more than half a million bespoke showers have now been configured using our world leading Smart-Shower expert software. Usage figures show continuing year on year growth with almost 200,000 frameless showers designed in 2006 alone.

14/09/2006 - Smart-Railing Released

Smart-Builder is pleased to announce that release of Smart-Railing. This latest addition to our suite of design modules was specifically designed for the aluminium railing industry but the configuration engine is applicable to any range of railings which is assembled from components, whether on site or in the factory.

Smart-Railing combines the Smart-Builder expert system approach with a new plan view layout designer in a software package which is easy to use and yet very powerful and flexible. Outputs include detailed pricing, a full hardware list with extrusion cutting and mitring instructions, glass cutting list and installation report.
